Criteria of the Category Relevance

The criteria of the category relevance evaluate whether an indicator measures relevant quality aspects of the service being examined. The relevance is directly dependent on the setting in which the quality indicators are applied.

The following criteria belong to the category relevance:

• Importance for the health care system and patients of the quality aspect demonstrated by the quality indicator
  
• Benefit
  
• Consideration of potential risks / side effects
